UltraCell is looking for a talented and highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record in designing complex portable mechanical products for military and or industrial applications.

Key duties include:

Using design for manufacturability as a key requirement, perform mechanical design functions for integrating compact micro fuel cell components into a rugged and cost effective assembly that can withstand MIL STD requirements.

Conduct mechanical simulations on the integrated product to help ensure that the finished product will meet thermal, acoustic and ruggedization (i.e. drop test, vibration etc.) requirements.

Walk the finished product through regulatory testing such as MIL STD, UL, FCC, EC etc.

Prepare documentation to support assembly of the finished product in a manufacturing environment and work with manufacturing engineers to help ensure a smooth transition of the product through its development cycle.

General, Experience and Education Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen with excellent English language proficiency.
• BS or higher in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years work experience. Military or industrial product experience preferred.
• Flexibility in work schedule is required along with some travel (4-6 trips per year to East Coast).

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• The winning candidate will have a strong track record of designing products which are used in military or industrial applications.
• Strong working knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
• Strong knowledge of molding, formed metal parts, ventilation schemes and thermal design.
• Experience with power generation/storage products.
• Proven ability to communicate across disciplines and professional backgrounds.
